Questions about joining MiEA?
Data Protection
Please be assured that any information you give to us through the website or in any other form will remain confidential. We will use the information to evaluate your application to join MiEA, for demographic analysis (when you will not be personally identifiable) and for other lawful purposes in connection with MiEA business. You may ask us to remove your information from our database at any time, and we will never give, sell or rent your e-mail address or other personal information to any third party. Of course, if you provide personal information for publication on the website then it will be available to those using the website, over whom we have no control.
We will keep your copy certificates and other details on our files, and may ask you to send copies of some of them each year to ensure that, for example, your professional indemnity insurance is up to date: we need to make checks like this in order to keep our own insurance premiums at a reasonable level.
The Fee
We ask our members to support the work of MiEA by contributing to our funds. The annual fee is presently set at £100. Some mediators feel able to contribute more than this. Some mediators who work primarily in the community sector or who work only pro bono may be allowed to join MiEA for no fee or a significantly reduced fee: please ask if you think this may apply to you.
The fee covers the preparation of a MiEA format webpage and a page in our hard copy brochures tailored to present your individual details. It also covers a contribution to the administration and other running costs of the organisation.
