| Details | I have been a partner with Ashton Graham and its predecessor for 20 years, having completed articles in London, and worked for 2 years as an assistant solicitor in Chancery Lane. The firm has developed from a 2 partner practice to the largest in Suffolk. I have experience in most areas of litigation, but have majored in the area of personal injury for the last 15 years. Within that field I have acitively assisted in setting up schemes within the community for clients with brain injury who need lifetime care. I have also created departments, been involved in management, including the creation of bonus schemes, and for 5 years was managing partner. 1990- Chair – Joint Advisory Committee to Rethink Disability Brain Injury Service – a not for profit organisation providing inter alia, care in the community for the brain injured. 1998-date Ipswich School – Independent School Governor – Member management committee 1996-2001 PEOPIL Co-founder and secretary – The Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers – preparing international conferences –also Trustee of The PEOPIL Foundation 1995-1999 Suffolk Coastal District Council Member of Planning Committee 1981-date YES Trustee of Lea Rowing Club, leading to creation of Youth Experience in Sport, a charity set up to provide sporting opportunities for the youth of East London – currently awaiting confirmation of £3,250,000 in grant aid to create a multi-sport centre. 2000-date Hope House Suffollk Created a charity to provide capital funding for a home for profoundly disabled children – fund raising exceeded by 50% - home built and open – children moved in. 2002-date Rehab Suffolk Instigator & Co-ordinator of project team to create posts in Suffolk hospitals to case manage the care and rehabilitation of the brain injured – now a registered charity in operation. |
